Hello and good wishes to all. My name is Tom. I would like to know how I can put pictures from a sdhd to send to friends via AOL email from my computer. I have windows 10 installed. Thanks to all for any support and ideas.

Since many email clients limit the size of the email (maybe 20Meg), which, depending on the size of the images you want to send, would restrict you to a couple of images per email.

For myself, I found that using something like Microsoft One Drive is handy. You can send (copy) images (up to the storage limit - my free account is 5Gb) to the web (One Drive account) and send your friends a link to view/download them. Later you can remove and replace images.

In either case, you would have to put the SDHC chip in a card reader on the computer and copy the files or add as an attachment to email. Or you may be able to connect the camera (with the card in it) to the computer with a cord that came with the camera and copy from the camera. I prefer using a card reader.

I would like to help but what is "sdhd" and personally I would not use "AOL" for this sort of thing. I would use another "Share" to make things easier.
Longshadow has suggested an excellent method of sharing your images.

That could explain my query, but why don't people read what they are posting before sending?

I try, but alas, I've screwed up too on occasion.

Have you checked with MS and/or AOL support?

Tom, I just bought two card readers from amazon for $15.00 each for my two nephews. They will help you transfer the files from the card to the computer. This one has multiple ports for most all types of cards. As longshadow said, you can use the connection cord for the camera, or the card reader. The card reader is easier and quicker.

Download and install DropBox. It has a Shared Photo folder feature that allows you to copy images from your card to a folder, then right click on the folder name to copy a link, then you can paste the link as opposed to the actual images into an email. They will be able to see them in grid view, as a crude slide show, and even download the originals to their computer if you want. Dropbox is free and comes with 2 GB of storage. The recipient does not need to be a dropbox subscriber, but if you refer them to dropbox through dropbox, you will get an extra 500gb for every new client that signs up - until you reach 10 GB.

A fast, easy way to share the photos is to simply use Facebook and friend them.

Google made things easier. At least in Google Chrome. Send any size photo you want. If it is larger than your e-mail provider will accept, Google will handle it in a similar manner as Dropbox automatically. I found Dropbox cumbersome to use, and the recipient was not always able to see it. Good ol' Google solves another of life's little problems.

If you want to send images straight out of the camera, they might be too large a file size for email. This is why others are suggesting DropBox. RAW and .tiff files are too large, .jpg files can be the right size. With an editing program, you can take the images and convert them to a smaller .jpg size. AOL mail will only send a total size of 25GB or the email just won't go through.

In Windows 10, you can save images to a Pictures folder, but still need a way to re-size the images for email.
