Hello All,
I considering building a P.C for Photo Editing. I currently have a Nikon D810. I was wondering if anyone has done this and can advise me on: processor, ram and graphics requirements? Thanks in advance

Lots of people with recommendations for doing this, here are a few:
http://turbofuture.com/computers/Build-Photo-Editing-PC
http://photographylife.com/the-ultimate-pc-build-for-photography-needs In the drop down menu they have links to past build plans
http://www.pcworld.com/article/259293/how_to_build_a_pc_for_photographers.html many of his specs (CPU & RAM) are the same as my 2011 iBuyPower gamer that I bought for photo editing 7 years ago. I am not a gamer but I figured if it could run games in real time it could handle photo editing. I am considering going to an AMD based video card with 4 GB to replace the Nvidia 2 GB I have now. I also might go up to 32 GB RAM from the 16 GB I have now. The old video card and RAM would go into our son's PC for his train simulator games.

If you just want the enjoyment of buying all the pieces and putting it together, then by all means, do so.
But, you can purchase a gaming machine that is more than adequate for PP for less money than you can build it anymore. And, it has a warranty.

What software will you be using? The requirements for Lightroom are different than those for Photoshop.

Rather than repeat what has already been written ad naseum on this topic, take a look at a reliable source that has been in business for a good number of years doing exactly what you want to do.

Bottom line - mulltiple cpu cores for LR, 4 cores for PS, 32 gb ram with room for expansion, an Nvidia Quadro graphics card if you want to display 30 bit color graphics on a wide gamut display, m.2 NVMe system drive, and lots of hard drive space for data. $2000 should get you an awesome machine, maybe even a little less.

Processor intel i7 at 3Ghz or higher. Ram 16GB. Graphics card with 2GB of RAM. Windows 10 64bit. That should work fine with photoshop or other editors. I use my PC with these specs for editing 4K video and for Photoshop.

Fortunately, many of us are willing to tell you how to spend your money. : )

Do a lot of online research. Processing pictures is not like making a Star Wars movie. You don't need a Core i7 processor and more than 16GB of memory. If money isn't a concern, go wild and get as much as your motherboard will hold.

Save time and headaches, consider buying a 'Gaming PC', already built and both low & high end models are packed with all the features needed for photo processing, depending on what you want to do....and they have a warranty. That is unless you're a professional photographer. Good Luck

I have a Dell with a mediocre setup and 8 GB of RAM and stock video card. Works OK for me. Edit raw files from my Canon t5i on it with no problems... Friend gave it to me.
