Waiting for the UPS man to deliver my new 70-300 VR lens (needs signature) and I see these "white tailed" squirrels "playing" in the neighbors yard between 140' and 160' away. Try as I might, I couldn't convince them to play in either the sun or the shade or come a bit closer. It was tough getting the two of them in one frame.
At that distance and with their speed, I know I was asking A LOT from only a 70-300 NON VR 4.5-6.3 kit lens. I know that some of the shots are "soft", but it is what I had, and I had fun trying to figure out how I could get the most I could out of the kit I have.
The images seem much crisper after download than just on display in the post.

Looks like they had a lot of fun keeping you entertained! So now you need that 500 or 600 mm lens.

I've lived in Ohio and Indiana (and Florida) my whole life, and I've seen red, gray, and black squirrels, but never a white tailed squirrel. Ours (also in Indiana) are red. Just over the border, when growing up, we only had black squirrels. My cousin claims that the black ones taste better for some reason??? I don't think I want to taste test them to see if he's pulling my leg.

What a wonder set! Definitely put a smile on my face. Thanks for sharing.
Looks like love was in the air.
How did your GAS attack go? Have the symptoms subsided or are you still in pain and afflicted with too much money? Be sure to post some work with your new lens.
Nice series. I don't think I've ever heard of white tailed squirrels before. I know I've never seen one or seen a photo of one.
