I have a Acer ES 15 laptop only 5 months old, it keeps freezing, over 12 times. I keep taking it back to the shop but they cannot find anything wrong. I looked on the net and it looks like this happens a lot. Have any of you had any experiance of this?
Bigal.

And had to pay a lot for programs and found limit on programs and paid a lot of $$$.

I find my desk top frozen this AM, but i had so much open that there was a limit on memory [16] went thru and closed out most of the open programs and in business again.

Running a windows up date may help, doing an ad ware and antivirus, and getting rid of the trash programs pre installed may help.

You did not tell us how much memory you have etc. Please solve my problem but do not expect details from me to help you... too often the UHH approach. Dr, I hurt, but I will not tell you where and for how long... the 20 question game.

Below is the info on the ES15 that you should have given .... Note only 4 Gig, low for W-10 and the processor is slow and shared with graphics. You did not say when the comp freezes... just setting there or when using for note pad or when trying to do graphics?????? Dr I will give you no information... solve my problem

I recently went to the doctor and told him "it hurts." He kindly asked that I fully describe the problem - where, when, how bad, what was I doing when I felt the pain, etc etc etc. If you want a good response to your question - add all that you can to properly describe your situation - computer configuration, when does the computer freeze - like what you are running, is the problem repeatable, etc etc etc.

Otherwise, take two aspirin and check back here tomorrow.

Not being snarky, just advising you how to get the best help. . .

I used to have problems with my computer freezing, and other problems as long as I had McAfee as my virus protection. Finally I switched to BitDefender and have not had a single problem. BitDefender runs constantly checking for viruses which you might encounter. Also, does your computer slow down to the point where it's grindingly slow? Have you been tempted or actually let one of those companies take over your computer to "clean" it out? BitDefender has an optimizer in its software that lets you do the very same thing that those people charge you lots of money for. Also, once you've subscribed to Bitdefender, renewals are much less expensive. I run a complete system scan once a week an the optimizer every couple of weeks to keep things working fast. Note: BitDefender has several products. I use BitDefender Total Protection.

Just wondering.....what virus protection are you using?

We did have this problem but I told my wife to stop putting it in the fridge. Of course it'll get black with the door closed.

Question, does the fan make noise? Generally, if the processor gets too hot it turns off, shutting down the computer. You should hear and feel the fan blowing warm / hot air, usually from the right side. If there is no hot air then the fan isn't working. It is also possible that if the fan is working, there is something blocking the processor heat sink.

Outside that, I have can only guess. Good luck.

Lack of memory will slow down the computer, it doesn't kill it. If there is insufficient memory, programs just won't load.

The computer freezing and then going black (shutting down the graphics / processor) is a mechanical issue, not a software problem.

Win10 automatically updates itself. There is no need to manually update.

If it is under warranty then stop playing with it and return it for a repair. Otherwise you got yourself an expensive door stop.

Al, most of the time when a computer locks up it is usually the video drivers, update your video drivers, see if that helps. Go to control panel, device manager, right click on graphics card and click on Update Drivers, hope that solves your problem.
