After 30 years of excellent service, B&H will continue to be my vendor of choice. You have just experienced "business as usual" for them.

I could spend two pages telling of the good experiences that I have had with B&H. But I have decided not to.

If everyone who had a good experience with B&H posted here, everything else would be crowded off the front page.

And I could take the afternoon off. :-)
Seriously, we appreciate the OP's comments and we're grateful he took the time to post here.

The first time I visited the store I was so blown away I forgot why I went in! I left with a raincoat for my camera instead of the battery I needed.

If you print with non Canon paper, download the printer profiles for your particular paper.
If you print with Epson paper, forget it, set printing properties to let printer manage colors. Epson and Canon's printer profiles do not play together.

You can also "profile" the epson (or any other paper) paper (with spyderprint or similar) to get a VERY accurate ICC profile for the canon printer, then let the PP software do the the color management.

Use the plugin you can download from Canon called Canon Print Studio Pro. It makes it easy to use icc profiles or to prepare for print using Canon paper.

Last Saturday at 11:50 PM I was finishing up my order for a Canon Pro-1000 printer. It usually lists for $1299 and includes a free pack of paper. Currently Canon has a rebate program for this and other
printers effective till 3/31 - on this printer it's $300 by an American Express card. PLUS - B&H Promo for code BHWPPI18 reduced the price by another $200. Bottom line, $1300 printer for $800. BUT -While completing the online order the B&H promo expired at 12 AM - if I had checked out at that point printer price was now $1000.

Happy ending - I immediately wrote an email to the sales dept. and today, at 11:30 AM. I received an answer that Yes, I could still get the discount of $200. I just completed my order
THANKS B&H, no company is perfect but my dealings have also been very positive with this store!

BTW, anyone have any tips/tricks/hints regarding the Canon Pro-1000?
