Thinking of purchasing Nikon D7500 refurb. Camera from Adorama. Would this be wise? It's $277 cheaper with just a 90 day warrants. Please give me some suggestions folks.
A refurbished camera has been inspected and gone through my the manufacture where the spec are the same as a new camera. I purchased a refurbished D700 from Adorama and it worked fine.
I think you should go for it. Good camera, good store and sounds like a good price. I have a refurb Nikon and it was received good as new. Low shutter count, came in a factory box with the normal charger, strap, etc. The camera has served me faithfully for several years.
Bought a refurbished D7200 directly from Nikon and it has served me well. Adorama is a safe bet, too.
used to work at a phone company remanufacturing cell phones. They were tested, inspected, parts replaced, retested and reinspected. A speck of dirt on the inside of the screen cover would be a reject. They had to be perfect.
Bought a refurb Nikon 5100 and a couple lenses from Adorama. They were perfect. Looking to sell them only because I'm too used to Canon after way too many years.
When I called Adorama to order, the phone salesguy actually prevented me from buying a couple filters that weren't quite right. Suggested some different ones that were actually better and cheaper.

Buy the camera. Adorama I believe has a several day return no questions asked policy. When you get the camera, shoot the crap out of it using Program, Shutter, Aperture, and manual. Shoot everything you can think of. Check the actual shutter count on camerashuttercount.com. If in the first 4 or 5 days you are not happy return it. If it has over a 20,000 shutter count, return it.
Be sure it was refurbished by Nikon and has low shutter count.

...$277 for a D7500 seems too good to be true...
Not much a price difference. Keep in mind a new camera will have a 1 year warranty vs. 90 days.
I may be a chump, but we have a great independent camera shop about 15 miles from us and I purchase all my gear from them. I've even paid sales tax when I could have avoided it. I have gotten some benefits as a result, however. My daughter is out of school for spring break soon (she's a teacher) and I want to taker her over to check out the D7500 to see if she likes the size and feel of it. She wants a DSLR to take better pics of the boys both at home and while participating in sports. Steve Perry recommended the 7500 over the 7200. My daughter has a very good eye for photography, even though she has mainly used her p&s and cell phone.
I do understand that many areas of the country do not have the type of professional camera shop that I'm speaking about. Anytime you're are in the Dallas area, be sure to visit the Arlington Camera Shop, which is not far from the stadiums (Cowboys and Rangers) in Arlington, as well as Six Flags.

There is a risk associated with the purchase of any item be it new, refurbished or used. Risks associated with new are low...refurbished some what greater and used even greater. Prices vary accordingly. Buy according to your budget and comfort level.
No sky king, the $277 is the discount. The cost is $969. But thanks for the feedback
