Yosemite in b&w. before Ansel Adams arrived

Years ago, I found a bunch of 8x10 glass plates negatives at the flea market which I contact printed and here is the result. At that time Ron Partridge an expert on old photography, the son of Imogen Cunningham, did some research and he found out that these were taken by a French Artist who photographed and used these images as subjects for his work. These were taken around the late 1800 he said and by the looks the emulsion was applied just before exposing. The camera and the supplies were transported be mules. Boy, we have it easy today. LOL.

you never know what you'll find at a flea market.
