This one doesn't seem to stray very far from this location.

As they are excellent anglers, they tend to hang out where they have the most success. Once they have caught and eaten all the stupid critters who like to shelter in the shade of big blue birds... they move on and find a new spot. In this manner, Nature ensures that the gene pool is regularly cleaned and predator & prey populations are kept in balance.
If only we were as clever as the Little Blue Heron... or even as clever as itβs prey?
Excellent download, forbescat!
Many thanks for the great comments. This particular bird is easy to shoot as he lives in a subdivision with a nature preserve so he's used to people.
I am not sure that this is a small blue heron. I have the same bird picture and I wonder...
I googled "little blue heron" just to be sure...
Very nice photo.
What in the world is "Flying Meat Acorn"?
Checked the download exif info.
"Acorn" is where I put the pictures that are ready for sharing. "Flying Meat" is the name of the company. It's a nice inexpensive app. Hey - no weirder than Ugly Hedgehog.
