Nor'easter of 1962

This weather system we have today is just like 1962. Heard about this on radio this PM.

Philly will be hit hard. Europe is being hit hard also.

Sierra Mts in CA gets ?ft of snow.

Looking out my window right now, white out.
No, I am not in Williamsport at this moment but at a job site and stuck here in the city it is located in.

I remember 1962. Morecambe bay had broken flow ice as big as houses. Snow in the peak district and North Yorkshire literally covered houses and people had to tunnel themselves out of their front door or upstairs window.


we have had 1/4" in last two days.....Yes the schools have closed (no big change there) and the weatherman is talking doom and gloom. But 1962 it isn't.

The Baltimore Sun published a special book of the storm, with the title of “Storm of the Century” (I still have the book). It was chock full of storm damage of Ocean City, Md. I was in the service at the time, so did not get there until August. I was amazed at how fast the cleanup and reconstruction was accomplished. The only evidence I saw that was different was part of the original boardwalk was replaced with concrete and some landmark buildings were gone, including the Maryland Inn. When I was 10 yrs old my mom and I stayed there for a week. Great memories.

Yes. The UK is calling their storm the "beast from the east".
