ID help

I was looking for a macro shot to use for a photo club submission and came across this image from the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. I've entered every search term I can think of into BG and haven't gotten a hit. Wondering if some of the folks who know bugs a whole lot better than I do can put a name on this little critter?

Instead of searching on Bug Guide, request an ID on there.... Someone will surely know. I have submitted many images for IDs

Close! Its a bit more like Kuschelina gibbitarsa. See https://bugguide.net/node/view/1227431 for this species, and https://bugguide.net/index.php?q=search&keys=flea+beetle&search=Search for a bunch of others in that group. I may not be right.

I'd say you nailed it! It's got the spots!

I have done that in the past. Seems to take longer than a search that doesn't answer the query and then posting here.

dpullum - It was strange to me then and I'll pass on any insects carrying my name in any form thanks!

Thanks Mark. Had a feeling you'd know the ID. BTW, I have a t-shirt with your J.R.R. Tolkien quote. It elicits at least one comment every time I wear it.

😊 Years ago when I finally got around to reading the Rings trilogy, that line just jolted me. Couldn't stop thinking about it.

My family/friends would tell you that's the perfect shirt for me. My favorite saying is, "I'm going to take my camera for a walk." My brother and I were in Paris a few years ago when I said that to him. Twelve miles later we met up for lunch at a pre-arrange favorite spot.
