These are interesting images!

Does color add or detract though? In what way does the color affect the image from a Street Photography perspective?

My immediate reaction just from looking at these as posted is that BW would actually be better, because the color is an eye catching distraction that does not make a better Street Photograph with these shots. Color just provides eye candy.

My belief is that the core of street photography is the story. Color is omnipresent in my life while black and white for me is historic or artsy. Subjects and their environs, mostly in color is where I experience life.

For me it's the mood I'm trying to capture and express. If I want bright, energetic, and happy I tend to use color. If I want gritty and dramatic I will go with Black and White.

It would be an interesting comparison to post those two photos in both color and b&w to make a call on them.
