I have been a CC subscriber since very early on. (basically, as soon as I understood how it would benefit me) I don't want to start that argument again.
Here's the issue. I'm going to be moving from the city to a rural location with no cable, Fiber Optic, etc internet. I'm looking at my options, but one thought I had was the verification of my CC account with adobe. Not a problem with the laptop and running to McDonalds, but I don't think I can carry my desktop with me to Starbucks or McD's.
So, how does one go about verifying Adobe CC when there is no high speed internet available? I may get DSL, but gheesh.... that's tough when you are use to 100gb fiber optic.
This is the one big drawback that we didn't consider when we decided to move.

I think Adobe have an off line verification system your installation generates a code you send that to adobe and they send back a verification code to paste into your install. To be fair if you can post to uhh with your desktop system you should be able to verify. What maybe more difficult is updating CC.

I use my work computer (in the city) to do UHH.
The house won't be finished until summer, but things (like internet access) keep popping up that we didn't consider when we decided to get out of the rat race and live on a lake. Trade offs. The only thing I really use my home internet for is the adobe verification. Now, the wife and her Facebook, youtube, and video games, that's another story all together. She may need rehab if I don't figure out a way to get reliable High speed internet. Not sure if you've seen how much cellular "air cards" can run if you use much data (like video games and youtube) but I'll need a 3rd job to cover it.

You might have to look into a satellite dish that will serve your needs. There is DirecTV, Dish , Hughes and probably others.
Be very careful with public Wifi. You're engaging without a condom. 😜😜

You can get HughesNet satellite internet for about $100 per month.
One possibility is get a portable modem (hotspot) a very strong one. I have a Jetpack with a contract with Verizon.
I upgraded it and it is powerful. It might be the answer. I can logon anywhere. I think that this new unit can take
many computers working off it. I believe it will work in remote places but you need to look into that.
It is part of my Verizon package. You can hold it in the palm of your hand. The original I got free this one i paid for. Many companies have these and this one will handle big files. Have to be careful about usage with your cell company.
The Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi 4620L by Novatel Wireless is a portable 3G/4G mobile hotspot that allows up to 10 Wi-Fi devices to share its high-speed internet connection. ... Its battery is good for 4 hours of use, and it gets really good LTE data speeds on less than perfect signals.
PS not sure this pic is same as description. Their are different models.

Thanks hpucker and Kozan. We had satellite TV, but not internet before, but had more problems than it was worth. Between the neighbors trees, wasps nests, and weather, we just did away with it, and decided not to watch TV except for the couple of local channels that sometimes come in, as long as there isn't a boat in the area messing up the signal. We certainly get a lot more done without cable/satellite.
$100/month wouldn't be outrageous, but it scares me a little based on our past experiences.

Is it like cell phones where it quickly gets "throttled" down to a slower speed. She who must be obeyed can get awfully scary when things start "buffering" HAHA
Satellite internet.
Sorry, someone said it before.

You can also gouge out your eyes.
HughesNet is perhaps the worst service available. Their speeds compete with dial-up but with more drops and outages.

I use one of these it just needs usb power because of where i am it sits outside blu tacked to the window for weather proofing i use a vinyl glove the stick fits the thumb and the rest of the glove wraps round the connector and cable with some garden twine finishing off the seal. There is a major bump in speed just being on the outside of the glass. I pay €20 every 28 days for unlimited internet and can reach 48mbit down and nearly the same up. Its a top up system. So i swop cards so after 28days i use the €20 for calls and texts. I have a third sim which i use for incoming calls just requires a €5 top up every 6 months :)
I doubt you can get the deal i have in the USA but 4g if there is a signal works very well.

We too live in the boonies. We use propane instead of gas. Cell service is usually one bar. TV is DISH, which we find better than cable. Our water is well and ends in a septic tank.
And we use CenturyLink.Net DSL. We get a fairly consistent 10MB down and 0.75MB up. The problems are there is often a high latency rate (delay in finding the site) but once there, responses are fast. While we don't use it, the package includes a phone for about $60 /mth.
Would I recommend CenturyLink for internet? Not if cable is available? But it is far better than satellite.
How often do you have to verify? If you are not reinstalling the program on a different computer is there an issue?
