Full frame global shutters on the horizon.

Sorry, but that's just BS!

So where are all those FF Canons with global sensors?

There aren't Clint. What I've read over at CanonRumors speculates this application to be implemented in video in 2019. With Canon's conservative approach globally, I suspect this feature won't likely been seen for a couple of generations passing it down to DSLR's/Mirrorless.
Architect is a huge supporter of Canon (which you are aware of) just as you are to your mirrorless format. Many other companies are really pushing the tech hoping to attract additional business in a rather flat market. I hope Canon steps up as well but being the primary marketshare, their incentive in change seems to be absent. Also a legacy of EF mounts requires careful decisions. I'm heavily invested in Canon and not likely to change any time soon. It would be financial foolery to do so. Otherwise their system is extraordinary in whole from their CPS service to their lenses to their reliabilty and no I'm not a fanboy. I do look at what others are doing right now. Hope there is a wakeup call to compete even when you're a giant.

We’ve heard that one since 2012... from Nikon and Canon rumor mills. One day, it might be true.
