I have bought from 3 of these -- excellent! Uhh... will I become persona non grata if I confess that I have enjoyed great results buying photography items from Amazon & Ebay, also? 😮
Persona non grata? Certainly not. Amazon is fine, although a little caution with their market place may occasionally be warranted. Ebay can be fine also, except when it isn't. To play ebay you need street smarts / web smarts, it's only safe if you know what you are doing.

Has anyone had any dealings with Big Time Camera, in Tampa Florida? How could I find out any info as to reliability concerning them?
The last couple of times I contacted them looking for lenses and gear, they were questionable. They "claimed" to have xyz but were currently out of stock and wanted to recommend d,e,f as a replacement. In this case, xyz was a Nikon lens and d,e,f was a "non-major" brand. (meaning it wasn't Nikon, Tamron, Sigma or any of the competing brands). They said that the Nikon was on order but seemed to be backordered. By the way, Big Time Camera of Tampa, FL is NOT an authorized Nikon Dealer. They do carry a few Nikon lenses but All of their Nikon cameras seem to be point and shoot and Nikon says that they are NOT an authorized dealer for ANY Nikon product.
Stay with those chosen above....you can't go wrong.
It looks like if you shop at Big Time, you’ll have a bad time.
Hard pass.

Mail order from
Tampa, you've sort of answered your own question. But Google it to be sure you are not missing out.
But best to stay with the chosen few (listed over and over on the UHH).
I just recently had a bad experience with KEH. They gave me a quote to buy a Nikon (D2Xs) camera but took 40% off after they received it and regraded it to excellent. I sent the camera to MKP and they gave me a fair price and did not regrade the camera. I was a long time customer but never sold anything to them. Just a word of caution.

You only need to know two words, B&H and Adorama.
all that you need to do is go to resellerratings.com and put in the exact name that they use and you will find how people have rated them. if they are not listed, then follow the other suggestions that have been listed.
Don't forget Allens Camera (outside Philadelphia) They are my favorite camera store and compete with B&H, Adorama, and the other biggies.
http://allenscamera.com/I buy both new and used gear from Allens even more than from Adorama and B&H. Cheers

There is no official UHH list, but most of us know who to buy from.
Go check with the Camera company web site and see if they are authorized dealers, whichever store you purchase from.
