I guess I moved you (back?) to Texas. All of my bird books cut Texas right down the center, west for spotted and east for eastern towhees but no spotted towhees in Georgia. I grew up calling them Rufus-sided Towhees. I always enjoy your posts.

I will always be a Texan, no matter where I live. I grew up in West Texas and lived there until I finished college, and I don't recall ever seeing a towhee. That was, of course, when I was not yet into birds and photography. Thank you, Phil. I enjoy yours too.
