I was guessing you used a smoke brush for the steam. In other words, smoke shot separately and used on a different layer.

I guess that's what I did, sort of. The smoke was shot at a different time, I was playing with burning incense and trying to capture different shapes of smoke, then layered it to the image. I wasn't familiar with the term. Thanks.

You've really created a wonderful mood with this one. The light is superb. The bit of steam gives it life beyond "still life."

thank you, Vicki! I'm so glad you caught this. I always appreciate your feedback. That is exactly what I was hoping, that it would be more than the usual "still life" by adding that fun swirly smoke.

very nice
Comes out a little dark on my screen
, I had a problem with my colors being the same on my screen as when sent and printed and finally had to calibrate my monitor and then assign a color profile to the picture,
as an example you can download the costco printer profile or your printer profile and assign it to the monitor and the picture so it prints as it looks
so much to do besides buying equipment
always say I will buy no more photography stuff
Hope im not talking so much
Very nice love the smoke I will have to learn how to do smoke
thanks
ron

Hi, Ron.
It is a bit dark. I lightened it just a tad to enter in my photo club's competition and it did present better. I tend to be a bit on the dark side with my images. Not sure why...perhaps a little mystery or something.
That's interesting info about calibrating the printer profile so the print matches the monitor. I may look into that. I'm not a great fiddler when it comes to the computer and it's programs. I'm always afraid I won't find my way back if I screw something up.
I appreciate you checking this out and I'm glad you enjoyed. And no, you don't talk to much. I could follow your line of thought very well...it's kind of like how my mind works too.
There are lots of smoke tutorials on line. I used incense sticks. There should be an open door or window so the smoke doesn't accumulate and set off the fire alarm. Live and learn.
