I've been listening to these kids from the school in Florida and I think they have it together. They are calling out The President and Congress to STOP taking "pay-offs" from the NRA. Starting today they are going to put the seal of stink on any politician who takes NRA money and will campaign against them. They didn't mince any words and put the "adults" on notice. I think we have this all wrong, we should let the kids run the country and the ages we now use as minimum for holding a political office should be maximums, I'M NOT SO SURE THAT WITH AGE COMES WISDOM, JUST GREED. If you can get a hold of this morning's Face The Nation, and ignore the three B.S.ing political types in the beginning and watch the last half with the kids, I think you'll be impressed

I'm very proud of (and impressed by) what these young people are doing as well. They do, indeed, have the right idea. It is their time to speak. It is a start, a move in the right direction. They are speaking truth to power. Good for them.

Good DH
More guns are not the answer. Teachers are not trained to shoot people. Priests and Pastors are not trained to shoot people. Store owners are not trained to shoot people. I doubt you would find many who would be willing to do so. No school board in their right mind would allow this. Even those teachers who might have some experience handling weapons cannot possible know how they would react in these sorts of situations, and would/should not think having guns in schools was a good idea. I spent a year in active war zones, have shot and been shot at. Guns in schools is not the answer!

I'll say it again...more guns are not the answer. Address the causes of the behaviour!

On a side note, I am VERY interested to see what happens when Trump has his "listening session" with the high school students They invited Trump to meet with them first. He declined, instead suggesting his listening session. Let's see what form that takes. I will be very surprised if he shows up, sits, and actually listens to what they have to say.

It will be all push back and bulling followed by some rude "red herring" tweet. He only listens when he is talking.

Well said again DH. Wednesday is Trump's "listening" day. I can't wait to watch children take him down, though I doubt he will give them the opportunity to actually talk to him, or that he will respond one-on-one.
