Most full frame cameras are up around two grand ... some are over three grand ...

By contrast, most APS-C cameras are $500 to around $1200 max ...

You can still pick up a Pentax K-50 (one of the best low-price DSLRs out there) for around $200 (body only) ....

It's all about the money ... nothing else ....

You can buy USED FF DSLRs around $600 ... but, you take a chance ... wouldn't you rather have brand new - for the same money?

BTW ... the Nikon D5 is $6500 ... a Nikon D5600 (the top-of-the-line Advanced Amateur DSLR, not counting the Pro-Level D500, or Prosumer D7500, D7200 or D7100) is just $650 ... that's ONE TENTH of the cost of a D5 ... enough said?

I'd like a Mercedes Benz S Class, but will be happy with our Dodge Journey.

Who wouldn't, Stan?

But, apart from the cost differential ... you also have to deal with a size and weight differential ...

The D5 ... for instance - is around 6" wide, and OVER 3 pounds ....

Most APS-C/DX DSLRs are around 5" wide, and weigh less than a pound ... but some may be in the two pound region ... (not many) ....

I maybe from a different line of thinking because I lost my precious wife to cancer, almost five years ago. She was eight years younger than me. I would have traded places with her if I could. She was one of the finest human beings that I have ever met. I think of her everyday.

Her death made me realize that there is no point in drinking cheap wine or buying nothing less but the best camera equipment. BTW, make everyday as if were your last because there my not be a tomorrow. Just do it and enjoy life. Cheers!

Sorry to hear of your loss, and I do realize your attitude about money, is derived directly from your loss ....

However, cheaper wines can be quite tasty ... no point in spending a hundred dollars for a bottle, when you can sate your appetite just as well, with one which costs $7!

I have a high level DX (D500) with two FX zoom lenses. Therefore I am ready for a FX body when I win the lottery.
I also avoid cheap wine.

In a nutshell, I want the best results I can responsibly afford; and I am fortunate enough to be able to afford full frame.

Thank you for your comment Chis T. To be honest with you, I am not that sophisticated to notice the difference between the expensive and the more reasonably priced wine. Cheers!

We had no knowledge of a difference and were not interested in just spending money for more megapixels. Had we investigated or been informed, it would not have changed our choice.

We have both, seems there were things other than more megapixels.
