I have been taking pictures since the late 60's. Only once did I use a tripod...Buckingham Fountain in Chicago. Not once have I touched the settings except P/A. It's so easy to delete pictures you may not like like somebody/thing got in the way at the last minute. Why worry about it. NOBODY that has ever seen my pictures has said: "That picture looks like it was taken in auto!?" Life is too short to worry about it. Thats why a tv remote/automatic trans/ micro instead of oven/remote instead of car key. I have a Canon T3I and tomorrow will get a new Canon T7I that will also never come out of A/P. Thoughts?
If you're happy...then we're happy.

I think if you're happy, I'm happy. Keep shooting.
It's fine if that is what you prefer. You are missing out on getting great photos as opposed to great ones, though.

illiniitt, I'm not sure I agree with your premise but your analogies are spot-on, as are the pix.
Excellent subject for debate - hope the glitterati on UHH come thru.
Thanks.
Keep doing exactly what you are doing and ignore any criticism from the trolls!
There is no way a microwave can compete with an oven.
If photographers don't want a blurry background (portrait) or a fast shutter speed for sports, Auto mode is fine for general photography.
Nice set. #4 seems to be out of level.
You sir.. are a Neanderthal!🤣

You are very lucky or easily satisfied ....or both
I use a microwave 100% of the time. I have been on my own since 1967....in any of the places I have lived since then...the oven has remained off. In fact....I keep my pots and pans (for on top of the stove) in the over to store. I have never drove an automatic at 69 years old. For a single guy...microwave is the best invention ever...along with A/P mode on cameras! Over the years....all the cameras I've had....I never read the manual.
