Welcome to Day 194 :) Today is all about Native American Art. Well I got to thinking .. we aren't all Americans .. so let's make it Native Peoples Art.
Did ya ever have one of those day where you couldn't find what you were looking for LOL... well that was my day today. I did manage to find some Native peoples things but not necessarily art. So here are my examples .. such as they are .. hope y'all have better luck than I did. I look forward to seeing what y'all come up with.

Native American art? I don't know. How about North America Native art? These were taken in Vancouver, Canada. Does that count?

My 3rd attempt to post today...

The first one is an antique Squash Blossom necklace from my grandmother..

The second one is my niece who recently got married in Vegas... She is 1/2 Lakota Sioux and my new nephew is 100%. She did traditional beading on her dress and is very talented. She has beaded many costumes for dancing at pow wows... If you watched "Life on the Rez" a couple of nights ago on OWN, the boy who was featured on there, "Misun Mills" is her son.

The next 2 are for Janice. WOO HOO....look what I found today in my yard...

thats funny Pat - there are several flowers that have a similar bloom and my back ups WW and Nan are not helping out - lol - if they are I haven't seen it yet. I am pretty sure it is the hibiscus... I have been known to be wrong also. One thing for sure, we won't argue about it, we will call it the big pink thing if we have to - lol

I have also been learning to do Digital Art.... this is one of my projects. Its not a filter...its done with layers. THe original is a bird walk along a marsh outside Anchorage, then in the second one I duplicated the layers and made a transparency and merged the layers to make what seems like aged wood...I sort of like the effect very much...when I showed it to my art challenged hubby, he says.."oh, why did you make it green?"....sigh....

You know Laskalass - there is always going to be someone who will question what you do and why you did it that way...I think its great and some people are definately "art challenged", I'm lucky my hubby is not - but he still questions...... its a hubby thing....

Hi Pat, I don't dress up for going to my son-in-laws, he has no scense of humor and dosn't get it, when he came with me a couple yrs ago to pick up my sister at the airport as she came in at Los Angeles, CA, so almost missed me because I was not my usual self,
