Hi my name is Julian Gang and I have a Sony DSC-HX400v, my question is does anyone else have one of these cameras. I'm fully satisfied I would just like to hear some other feedback. This seems like it is a very nice site for any kind of photographer and I am very glad to be a member!...Julian

Welcome to the forum. Your particular Sony Bridge camera is rarely mentioned on this forum. But, it is a very good camera. I've seen it on display. Sony's Brand Name, associated with cameras, is well placed.

I have the hx100v, a predisessor of your model.at 30x. it takes great images and I love the extra features. if I didn't want or need the advantages of a dslr, it could be my only camera.

I have and use the HX400 along with my Sony Alpha 65. A good camera but was a little difficult to learn. I do mostly bird and waterfowl photography. With my 18-250 lens on my A65 and my HX400 for back-up, I can capture nearly anything that I see.

Welcome. I own the same bridge camera. I bought it because I was going on a trip with a group and I didn't want to bring one of my Nikons and lenses. I love this camera. I take lots of bird photos. It takes great photos, it is light, and it is quiet.

I have the Sony DSC HX400V,,,,It is a Great Bridge Camera 24mm wide angle to 1200mm super telephoto Zeiss zoom lens,,,in Shutter Priority which I normally shoot in or in Aperture Priority with the rotating dial on the back of the Camera you can watch through the EVF or on the LCD screen as you rotate the dial and the picture gets lighter or darker until You have the exposure you want,,,,Great Little Camera in Good Light and small and light and not expensive like my DSLR gear and all the Lenses I had to buy,,,,You have a Great Camera have Fun with it !!!

The best images of any camera that i ever owned....that includes Nikon, Canon, Minolta and Panasonic. Only camera that "might" equal the Sony is and old Oly that I used to have.

I am a long time Minolta, Konica-Minolta, Sony user, now a65, a6000, a99ii. Don't have the HX400v but I plan on replaceing my Canon SX50 with the HX400v, sometime soon.

Replacing a Canon with a Sony might be a wise choice because the reason why I first bought Sony was a teacher of mine directed me to buy anything with a Zeiss lens, which Sony does. BTW my teacher was a photographer for the local newspaper...Julian

The Sony is a great camera. My only issue with it is a limited aperture range.

I have that camera and it works very well and that Zeiss lens is sharp. DO NOT USE IN MIST OR RAIN. THE CAMERA IS NOT WEATHER SEALED.

Yes, I got started on Zeiss lenses with my first 35mm, a Zeiss Contaflex. Then a Exackta VX1000, then Exacta RTL 1000, then a Rollie 35. The HX400 was not available when I got the SX50. Go Zeiss...
