I began following AP's posts several years ago. I enjoy all of his work but was especially drawn to his food photography. When he prepares a home cooked dinner, he posts a photograph and a recipe for his dish. We've become photo buddies thanks to our mutual love of cooking and photography.

AP motivated me to try food photography on my own. This post is only a start. I hope to learn and grow using AP's example to guide me. I learned yesterday not to tell my wife dinner is ready before checking my shots. We ate my entire subject. My thanks to AP for encouraging me to try something new.

Grilled pork chops with sauted sweet peppers and roasted potatoes.

This looks delicious, John! And photographing food keeps you busy in the winter when it's too cold outside. You eat every day, so there's an unlimited supply of good food to photograph! I, too, like AP's work. Looking forward to seeing more of your posts!

I would pull back and not fill the frame with just food. Show more of the entire presentation. Just my take but what do I know. I'm definitely not a food photographer.

Thanks for the suggestion, leftj. The counter was cluttered from cooking so I came in tight to eliminate the messy background. It would look better if I was able to show more.

Thank you, Linda. I shoot in jpeg and don't use PP so I've been looking for something new to try. I love to cook so this might work out well.

Thank you for your kind reply, Audrey. I really appreciate it. AP and I are around the same age and learned to cook from our mother and grandmother so that, plus our love of photography, gives us a lot in common.
