Here's a thing we all know...people who use cameras regularly see things that ''ordinary'' people do not. There was this fanstatic ice jam which let go and I have done quite a few there and is different parts of the day for lighting and shadows. Believe me ice ice is beautiful even when it is not in a glass. The only tracks down there were from school kids taking a short cut home
P 7 Jim, very nice side-lighting certainly emphasizes the snow textures and mounds, I especially like the two cemetary frames with the intriguing headstone mounds.
P 15 A masterly rendition in the painterly style of the traditional still-life artists. Quite a reversal, Matt, a photographer imitating the lighting, textures and composition techniques of painters who are trying to capture the realism of photography!
So, I just finished reading the post on "What one thing annoys you most in a photograph?" on this site, and knowing that quite a few people dislike pictures of flowers, sunrises, sunsets and pets, and apparently anything else they wouldn't take a picture of, I'm going to post these anyway...because I like them, and they make me happy.
I hope you like them, but if you don't, that's okay too.

P 23 IMHO the sun(rise, set?) shot has a nicely serene atmosphere in it, Rolk INHO. The doggie is a sweet capture.
