I'm looking for the widest fisheye that I can get, and still have a square image (one without the black border and the round image in the center).

I currently use a Sigma 10mm but sometimes I really wish I could get a little wider

I use the Rokinon version of this 8mm fisheye on a Nikon APS camera. The image covers the sensor completely.

Thanks for the reply. I'm glad to hear that there's an 8mm. I'm hoping to find one with auto focus since my eyes aren't great anymore. but at least if I can't find one, this is a good alternative. Thanks.

At that focal length, you don't really need autofocus, nor focus confirmation. It's a good inexpensive lens, made by Samyang, and can be found for < $200 : http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/886565-REG/Samyang_syhd8m_c_8mm_f_3_5_HD_Fisheye.html or there's the Canon for a little bit more money: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/Canon/Ntt/Canon+fisheye/N/0

Are you just wanting ultra wide angle or do you truly want fisheye effect? The Sigma 10-20mm is rectilinear, and that is exactly what I want.

I'm just wanting as wide-angle as I can get.

do you undertand the difference between fisheye and a rectilinear ultra wide lens? A fisheye - even if full field - will typically render straight lines as curves, a rectilinear lens renders straight lines as straight lines.

If you want the latter look at the Canon EF-S 10 - 18.

I don't know what camera you're using, but the 8-15mm Canon fisheye might just be what you are looking for! It has very good image quality and does give you a square image, depending on how you use it!

If you want the latter you could look at the Canon EF-S 10 - 18, although you already hsve 10mm you say.

Check out the Tokina 11-20mm, f/2.8. It’€™s the widest with a distortion so tiny you need to shoot a straight line on a white paper and use a ruler to discover it. Furthermore, it’€™s one of the sharpest there is, if not the sharpest.

And as you requested, it’€™s full Autofocus. More about it here:
https://www.lenstip.com/index.html?test=obiektywu&test_ob=451

You’ll find it used on eBay from $450.

I’ve had it for several months now. No disappointments, none what so ever.

There's a lot of versatility in fish eye lenses. You can get that weird fish eye look, or you can get a decent wide angle shot. It can look even more normal with some processing.

I had an 8mm with a DX sensor, and now I have a 15mm with my FX.

Using a W/A lens.

I use a 8mm Bower on my T4i and T1i, no borders. Bob.
