I used a Datacolor Spyder 5 Pro to calibrate my monitor. I know it generated a profile: "sRGB display profile with display hardware configuration data derived from calibration". I'm using Photoshop CC. My question is "what do I do next with this calibrated profile?"
Basically nothing. Your operating system should select this profile when you start up your computer and Photoshop automatically selects the operating system profile.
I use to use Spyder 4 Elite . When it finished calibrating it would automatically set the computer to use the new profile . I didn't have to do any thing else . Unless you are printing your own photos and want to set up PS to use the calibration profile , you don't have to do anything . If you are printing your own photos and don't like the finished print . Youtube has videos that show you how to set up PS to use the Spyder 5 profile . It would be easier to watch them then for me to explain how with photos . I now use the i1 Display Pro to calibrate my two Photographer monitors . Hope this helps answer your question

I use Spyder Pro5+ to calibrate my monitor which also automatically adjusts for room lighting changes. When I was warned it is time to do my one month re-calibration of the monitor I had all sorts of problems doing it as a re-calibration and finally just did a new calibration. It turns out I had to sign on as administrator (right click the icon, run as administrator) and it works fine. Just a warning for you if you use Windows.
Thank you all for your time and knowledge
