You shall not kill

This one is also dozy that will make a few howl...

How do you understand this?

Is it about killing a person?

How can you be held responsible for killing a person if the time of death of everyone is predetermined?

Why did jesus forgive a killer while being killed himself?

Have you ever wondered at this? Ever?

We see jesus has being the great 'forgiver' and celebrate in awe what he did that day. Even a criminal can get a last minute reprieve and be saved.

Have you ever wondered what crime was committed? Was it a crime? After all this is breaking one of the commandments. Why would jesus forgive this? Because of a last minute conversion? Remember the timing. He was not christ yet, he was still the son of man. He became the son of god with his resurrection. 'Forgive them because they do not know what they are doing' is what he said. Folks were chanting for his death participating in his killing. He could have cursed them with the wrath of god for committing a crime. He would have been right if the sin was killing a body.

Now think hard about killing and death in general. At the time of death we have all been presented with the questions about god. We have all made decisions by then and kept them until the last breath.

Death, for a christian is the start of life with god. It is a time of joy because of that. Sure the deceased will be missed by a few or many for many different reasons but the reality of a christian is more like 'When will it be my turn?'. No, this is not about wishing to kill oneself. This is about being united with god.

I knew a person who knew she was going to die. She was in good health. When she learned of it she was crying of joy. Who was she? My first wife. I did no understand at the time when she told me 'I will meet god soon'. What was she talking about??? Less than four days later she was killed by a drunk driver. I was devastated until I realized what she had told me - just a few months late. Then I became angry, why her and not me??? (I received that answer later on.)

A man who drove a truck while drunk killed her. What crime did he commit? This is what is leading me too this...

If killing is not about taking someone's life, what is it?

I have only one answer for you. We can kill people only one way: By refusing or creating situations where we prevent a person from making the right decision. How do we do that? By being the obstacle christ warns us about.

Killing and death takes a whole new meaning when one is a christian.

For society there is nothing worth than taking someone's life, physically. For a christian killing is different. Killing is to influence a person against god, even if it is innocently done. How do we prevent that? Simply by avoiding confrontation, arguing that god is the only way, pushing it as 'my way or the highway'.

God truly is the way, through christ. Just don't fling god in people's face.

Be firm in your beliefs. Take strength from god. Let god guide you. If someone is ready for your witnessing/testimony, you will know. In the mean time live as fully as possible. The world is yours to enjoy.

Dear friend, your assertion that Jesus was not the Son of God until the resurrection is quite incorrect. Please see John chapter one, John 10:30, Matthew 16: 13-17, Matthew 3:17. John 14: 8-11.

Well, jesus had to live and die as man first.
Only when he resurrected was the proof he was the son of god.
I make the distinction because I feel that it is important.
You cannot kill god. You can only kill his body, or so they thought.

Friend, Jesus said “before Abraham was, I Am”. Jesus existed before “the Word was made flesh”. He shall be called Emanuel - God with us. He was the God-man. See Philippians 2:5-11.

God is god, Jesus is god. I do not say otherwise.

What I said is that jesus had to be a man, walk like a man, preach like a man, die like a man in order to fulfill the prophecy of his coming as 'son of man', not son of god. His follower while a live accepted that he was god but when he died all doubted, as we would have. Remember that before jesus seeing god was a death warrant.

Rongnongno, in other forums you frequently state topics belong in a narrow topic forum or the Attic, but you posted this in a forum dedicated to spiritual photography not to potentially hostile discussion. This topic at least belongs under General Chit Chat and probably in the Attic.
