Yes his was an incredible story of bravery and so deservedly of the CMOH but then again there were hundreds and hundreds of incredible and heroic stories that never got the recognition or the awards they deserved from this war.

Happens in Every War,,,,some Brave Soul starts out to do something that would win the Bronze Star with V or Silver Star, or Distinguished Service Cross or Distinguished Flying Cross or Medal of Honor and is immediately shot dead or wounded and incapacitated and unable to complete the task or They do complete the Task and should have gotten a Valor Medal but nobody saw them,,,,conversely there are Some who are wearing Medals Who do not Deserve Them or should be wearing a Lesser Valor Medal,,,,Such is the Brutality of War and all We can do is Thank God We survived......

Other good reads of guts & bravery are CMOH recipients Bruce Crandall and Ed Freeman during the battle of the Ia Drang Valley, '65....sadly we lost both of these hero's all too recently.

And just as sadly, we of that era are all aging quickly and getting to that point.

One parting gift I got from that experience is prostate cancer, thanks to Agent Orange. Fortunately I got a handle on it quickly, and am getting a 100% disability from the VA.

I am fully aware of the sacrifice that you and so many others have made. Several schoolmates and acquaintances from my home town made the ultimate sacrifice, and others have had their lives affected in some way, as you have. One of the best athletes at my high school served three tours in special ops and came home totally changed and ended up an addict and died an early death.
