Sony A99 Menu

I have used a Sony A77 for four or five years and just purchased an A99 in excellent condition. Everything seems to be in good working order but the camera is set on both RAW and JPEG but I just want to shoot JPEG. In the Menu under Camera1 it will not let me navigate into Quality where this function is set. It just jumps over to Camera 2. I have set the top two functions to Large and 3 to 2.
Any ideas? I am sure it is very simple. On the A77 I have no problem.

What button/dial are you using to select the parameters once in the Cam 1 pull-down? Using the rear dial moves you to Cam 2 or the last high-level pull-down in the menu system. Using the joystick to push straight down should select the Quality function and offer the pull-down for those options. Using the front dial or the joystick up/down should scroll through the pull-down offerings.

I had to undo a setting made by previous owner. In Menu Select Recording Media, I changed Sort (JPEG/RAW) to Normal. Now I can go back to Camera 1 and enter Quality. Thanks for input.

Some cameras allow you to 'reset' to factory defaults. Then you can go from there to suit your fancy.
