Canon say "not economically feasible to repair". However after about 3 months I put a battery in it an d it does seem to work, I did purchase a refurb 80D to replace it, so I'll have to do some testing with the drowned one and see if it can be a backup.
If your camera gets dunked, as quick as you can, pull the battery. If you can get it out before the internals get wet then it will be just a matter of drying it out.
My wife bought me an 80D for Christmas. I love it. Thanks for reminding me that it is water resistant and not water proof.
