Next week I've been asked by my pastor to use my God given spiritual gifts to minister to several people during a gathering. I've operated for decades in several utterance gifts but this will be the first time I've been asked to take the lead. Excited yes but ... oh my!
Humility please .... it's all about Him, I'm just the vessel that is open to be used for His purposes. Sort of like being the UPS man ..... you get to deliver the gift but your not the sender .... pray that I keep it in that order, to easy to be caught up in the flesh.
I prayed for you and this occasion and trust you will be the benefactor of many other prayers from UHH members. Your spirit is certainly in the right place, that all glory will go to our Father and not to ourselves.

Charles Wesley relied on the words "I am with you always, even unto the end of the world" in his preaching career as he was often a bit questioning of his own gifts.
You show wisdom, humility and an obvious strong Spirit.
I'll pray for you as well and I know God will work well through you.
I will be in prayer for Kim as well.
What is your Pastor actually asking you to do here, speak in tongues to minister to people? Or am I misunderstanding?

HA HA HA HA .....
No ...
My primary gifts in order of 'giftedness' include words of knowledge, words of wisdom, prayer for physical healing and finally prophetic words.
I traveled the world for many years with a well known pastor/teacher who taught about the gifts and then imparted them to church leaders/lay persons. From smaller gatherings of 500 to stadiums I witnessed incredible things. And of course I had the opportunity to minister to many myself. But this is different .... same gifts just a releasing of to step into the focus point. I feel fine doing this, just want to maintain a position of humility ... it's all about Jesus. So often people look at the gifts one uses and places them on a pedestal and then we fight the possible sin nature and buy into that. Just want to stay away from that temptation.
The pastor I'm now with was mentored by the person I traveled with. He actually was the likely successor but that is another story.
Thanks for the timely reminder that we are all called to use our talents for the glory of God and the advancement of His kingdom. I am also a musician and have played in many church praise bands and worship teams over the years, as I have moved a good deal for my career. I can recall the early days of my wanting to be a "rock star" on stage, to the clear and obvious detriment of my offering to the Lord. It was all about me and my "performance." I got the news one day in a real "flash" that it's not about the messenger, it's about the message. That changed my life and my ministry, and I am so much more fulfilled and free in my worship than I ever was before. God bless you and your ministry, and prayers for clarity of thought and discernment in your words.
