My local fair runs from July 11-15, 2012 this year and each year they have a photo contest. They have a b/w catagory with 21 subcatagories and a color catagory with 23 subcatagories. You can only enter a total of 12 photos due to the rules. The prizes are small.
1st: $ 2.00 2nd: $ 1.75 3rd: $ 1.50 4th $ 1.25 There is also some ribbons awarded:
Best of Show: Black & White
Best of Show: Color

Below are the photos that I entered into this year's competition. I entered all in the Color catagory which is listed as Dept. A-20 Photography Class B: Color. I will list each subcatagory as I post the photos.

I like the Firefighter with the reflective patches. Then the Bison, it looks as if it is a frosty morning with the subtle grass colours etc. :thumbup:

I know. 2nd straight year without winning anything. Always next year but I am sure going to do it differently. Larger photos next year (8x10 instead of 4x6 and framed too instead of no frames)

I will surely post before I enter the next time. I didn't enter some of the close ups as I have too many photos to choose from that I have to narrow it down to 12 or less total between all the catagories. Now I got smart and took photos of all the winning ones this year besides my photos on display at the fair for the contest so I have a better idea of what the judges are thinking. Knowing my luck though, they will still not pick any of mine. Thank You for the help.
