Suddenly, one voice was gone. Former Canon Explorer of Light and Birds As Art blogger Arthur Morris has switched over to Nikon and has nearly completed a firesale of his Canon equipment.

Not the first, nor the last. My used Canon display is overflowing with bodies AND lenses traded in on the Nikon D850 over the last 4 months.

What's funny is he made the announcement about switching to Nikon on April 1, 2013. It was an April Fools joke.

Really? The post date is today, 1/22/18, and he states "Please note today’s date. It is not April 1. "

I try not to be be focused on brand, so if he is correct, good for Nikon. It'll be interesting to hear informed responses. I may use Canon, but I don't have any reason to say anything bad about Nikon.

Some Nikon ambassadors switch to m4/3. Why should anyone care really? It shouldn’t effect any of the snapshot shooters what pro photographers use. The quality of our photos will not improve or get worse either way.

More than likely a marketing thing. Art Wolfe used to shoot Nikons and now he shoots Canons on his television show which is sponsored by Canon Cameras. I wonder why he switched? Hmmmmm.

I’m slowly switching from Nikon to Fuji. Some things are better with one; some things are better with the other. Oh and neither one is a sponsor.

The reason he said that was he did do this as an April Fools joke in 2013.

This time it's real.

Does that mean that he's a slow learner?

Yeah, he's certainly anticipating that new mirrorless camera that Nikon is developing "real soon."

I'm surprised it took so long after Canon dropped him from the Explorer of Light program.
Maybe he'll join Moose Peterson as a Nikon Ambassador.

I have heard this from several Professionals in and around Los Angeles. Canon is years behind Nikon with the D5, D850 and Sony with the A7E and A9. They have made noises about new DSLR releases, but nothing is on the horizon.
