Do you want to, or have you captured the action at professional gridiron games? Here is what you need to know... info from B&H Photo website.

The American professional football league has stipulated requirements for what you can and cannot bring into a stadium, but individual venues have their own sets of rules.

"American professional football league"????? The "National Football League" runs the game in North America. Who is this new(?) league?

That might be the league, formed or trying to form, run by Vince McMahon.

Considering the list of teams in the article, I'd be reluctant to follow any of the advice and go to the NFL web site and the stadium site in which the "big game" is being played.

By Big I assume you mean the Super Bowl blow out, correct? Point and Shoot or smart phone camera will do nicely for the entertainment shots you can get of people sitting in the corporate boxes and and seats purchased by companies to gift to their preferred customers. The images of game action will be posted on the net and will cover every conceivable angle of every play worth taking a look at.
Remember the thing about these kinds of experiences, you can sit back and enjoy the spectacle or view it through a lens and as far as a great memory of the event you will get a better one by going camera less.

David and Bob,

I believe when he said American football, he paraphrased it that way because in England, and other countries, what they call football is what we call soccer over here. The writer is the Senior Creative Content Writer for Explora on B&H. He most likely wrote it that way so anyone from other countries would know what he was referring to, the NFL or American Football.

He also is a former US Navy and Coast Guard helicopter aviator and a licensed merchant marine officer. His personal website is www.trvphoto.com if interested.

All of the teams he lists in the article are all teams in NFL cities. If you look at the names he uses, I think you will see what he did. Example - New York Large People and New York Turbofan Powered Aircraft [Same stadium.] He is obviously referring to the NY Giants and the NY Jets. He even says "Same Stadium".

Here is the link to Met Life Stadium where the Giants and Jets play. Info he provided in his article is the same as what is listed on their website.

Cameras and Binoculars - Small cameras and binoculars will be allowed. Camera cases and binocular cases are prohibited. No spectator cameras with lenses over six inches (6”) long will be permitted. Again, camcorders will be prohibited.

Electronic devices - Spectators are strongly urged not to bring electronic devices of any sort into the Stadium. Any electronic device will be thoroughly inspected causing delays of the individual spectator, as well as other patrons. Electronic devices include, but are not limited to, cellular telephones, pagers, televisions, radios, personal computers and personal digital assistants (PDAs).

Vince, thanks for the help, especially deciphering the teams mentioned. That was a bit tough at 4AM without having much coffee at that moment.

Pretty clever, but as I mentioned a bit obtuse for early risers.
Thanks again,
Bob

Not only does B&H have the league wrong, but it shows the Los Angeles team as the "Lightning Bolts" instead of the Rams and the Chargers. I can't believe that B&H did not have someone who knows a little about professional football write this and not have a knowledgeable person prof read it before posting it.

If that is the case, why did B&H, a supposedly American company, post it without indicating that the article was about the unamerican game of Soccer.

Read my previous response to David and Bob. It explains the article and most likely why written the way it was.

It wasn't about Soccer. I guess you don't understand the explanation that I wrote to David and Bob. Europeans, as well as countries outside of Europe call Soccer football. It was written that way so they would know what the author was referring to... American Football and not Soccer.

Obviously you read the the OP first without reading the other responses, like so many other people on here do when reading a post. See the example I gave referring to team names also, and you will see what the author was doing by writing it that way.

A lot of people don't understand, including you, that when you start to write a response other people continue to write posts. By the time you write and send your post, new posts are visible on the thread that were not posted when you started the process. In addition, once you start to write your post you cannot see what is being posted while you write. When you send your post you see that your post is not in a sequence that makes sense because of all the other new posts that are in between what you are responding to and your new post. Therefore, many people, including myself, are wrongly accused of not reading all the posts before responding when we actually did.

GOOD OR BAD, THIS IS HOW UHH SEAMS TO BE PROGRAMED!

The solution would be to change the website's programing so that responses are posted directly below the post the response is associated with instead of the chronological order in which posts are made.

I hope you realize by now that the author was just having a little more fun than you were up to - the Chargers have lightning bolts on their helmets, and even broadcasters sometimes call them that.

And the rules are just common sense. The issues really are public safety in nature. The Super Bowl is a natural magnet to terrorists - if one would set off a bomb, every talking head {and half the people here} would demand to know why they let uninspected packages in. The lens issue really is physical length - they don't want you to accidentally hit the head in front of you.

If you must have pictures, capture moments off the TV with your smart phone.
