I like the way it looks with the flowers out of bounds and background framing it. Thanks for sharing.

I like what you have done; but I find the sky and mountain top above the Mission wall distracting; just my opinion.

so you are saying that the eye is not first drawn back over the lake to the snow mountain?

My eye is looking at the outside frame, which is beautiful, then to the lake, which is gorgeous, then to the mountains, which are awesome.... there is a lot of competing subjects, all of them very nice in their own right. Put together it seems ( to me ) to be a bit too much.

Just my opinion !

thanks for letting me know how you see it. It is informative. For me, my eye is drawn to the snow mt., then moving forward and lastly noting the details of the little Montana flowers.

I use Photoshop. I start with the base photo of Saint Mary Lake. I open the photo of the Mission arch, outline the arch, copy and paste into the Lake photo, using Edit/TRANSFORM to size and position the arch. Then I open my photos with the flowers, outline and copy them and paste them into the composite, using TRANSFORM to size and position them at the feet of the arch. I used Microsoft PictureIT, put the composite into that software, picked a frame, saved that framed composite and put it back into Photoshop where I drew the pencil-thin line into the frame with Edit/STROKE. Then I used the TEXT tool in Photoshop to write the text at the bottom. One could have made the frame with a picture of an abstract background and cut out the frame from that without ever leaving Photoshop.
