I will be going to Las Vegas next week to be in a booth at the SHOT Show. I'm bringing my Nikon D7500 and whatever lens would be appropriate.
I am thinking of bringing my DX 18-140, my DX 35mm and I just ordered a DX 10-20 from Amazon. I think I will leave the DX 18-300 at home as it's quite big and heavy.
I also have an SB-700 but I think I would rather crank up the ISO rather than use a flash in such a big place.
I'm hoping to use the new DX 10-20 to take pictures in the crowd, not so much for the wide angle itself.
What are some of your thoughts on the setup and perhaps some ideas on exposure settings; Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Manual with which preference?
THe Las Vegas Convention Center will swallow on camera flash. The 18-300 would be useless for interior shots.

What type of images do you want to create at the SHOT show?
I am just envious that you get to go to the SHOT show!

Pictures of booths, of course, but also pictures of the crowd, and even from within the crowd. I did computer shows for 35+ years and took lots of pictures at that time, but this is something a little different with the high ISO capabilities of the D7500.

Yeah. I was invited by a high end sports optics company because of my record in long range competition and knowledge of riflescopes.

Interesting that with 35 years' experience you would ask for ideas on exposure settings and modes. The only difference with higher ISOs is faster shutter speeds and smaller apertures. Good luck shooting the SHOT!

LOL. I meant I did computer shows; I boothed, I ran shows, etc. I only took a few pictures of my booth, way too busy to roam around with a camera.
I would be amazed if they would allow you to take that camera in there without a press pass. You might want to check on that.

Prepare to be amazed.
Yes, vendors are allowed cameras but we cannot take pictures of other booths (vendors) without their permission.
If you've got some fast lenses I'd thing using the available light would be best as a flash will draw attention to you. The camera is certainly capable of good high ISO photos. As a long time firearms enthusiast I look forward to you posting your photos. I've never had the opportunity to attend that show.

What's a "SHOT" show? I've never heard of this.

It's the largest firearms convention in the country, held annually.
