When tethered to a laptop out of LR, the image you see is inclusive of the adjustments laid-on by the software program, right?
...that's what I was getting at. If I put corrections in via LR software, they show on my live image (not really "importing" here, per se). Further, if my settings in LR remain neutral, then my jpeg settings out-of-camera take precedence? Because, even when shooting RAW the camera is producing a jpeg...see what I mean? Kinda wormy...
...nice link...no time right now, but I scanned the opening...
99% of Pros use tethering to allow them to view studio shots on a larger monitor to confirm focus, composition, exposure, not to edit. After the shoot is when you sit down and get creative. You can also use the tethered computer to show the model/subject how the shots look

...I've done it for a senior photo-type thing, but never really thought about the nuances involved. I mean right down to the screen calibration...very interesting. Still haven't really delved into the camera/LR/'puter relationship the way I'd like...
Tethering is just like using the standard import, only one picture at a time as the picture is available from the camera. If you set a preset in the tethering dialog, LR applies it after the picture is loaded to the computer. If you don't, LR uses what it gets. If a Raw comes in and your don't set a preset, LR does apply about a sharpening of 25 (like it always does for Raw imports), but that's about it. JPEGs are brought in as the camera shot/processed them.
