I'm sure there are plenty of photos taken at sporting events and other places that look like they were taken at the same time. Here are two photos (the first two) taken at a waterfall that were taken at the same moment. The water is changing constantly and yet these two photos have caught the drops, the spray and everything else in the same spot. I thought it would be interesting to show these here. The credit goes to Charlene and John, two photographers who were on the same tour to Brooks Falls, Alaska as I was.
The third photo is mine and I think I'm a fraction of a second ahead of them ... oh well.
Charlene and John must be two peas in a pod; excellent simultaneous captures! Were they also using the same equipment? Even down to the tiny water droplets the shots are the same. Also, I'd like to mention that shots like this (and yours), represent a great deal of "behind the scenes" preparation and expense. Just getting to Alaska doesn't get you the opportunity. You have to probably queue for a spot on a plane that will take you to the location at just the right time of the year, possibly queue for the right spot on location, and get your photos, then do everything in reverse as you head home. All the effort you all put in I would say has paid off, as these are excellent photos of one of natures awesome events in a magnificent setting few people actually get to see in person.
After looking at them for a while, I've decided (like my opinion means a whole lot - NOT) that the second one is the best shot. The colors are a little deeper and the foreground is not foreshortened. But all three are good and much better than anything I'd ever get.

Thank you. I wasn't looking for the best shot. I posted these photos because they were taken at the same moment in time - Notice that every drop of water is in the exact same spot in both photos; I consider that to be a rarity.

There have been plenty of photos of Alaska posted on this site ... See my 'My Trip to Alaska" series
Oh, my gosh! Howard, you're right. It looks like the shutter went at the exact same fraction of a second! We were both shooting Canon. I had on a 70-200 meter and my best guess is that John had his 100-400. My photo is probably cropped more than John's. Thanks for posting, Howard. Char
Excellent shots by all of you.

That is exactly why I posted it. I don't think everyone read my original words.
