Your "waterfall radar" is still working well. Does it have a name (Lower Falls, Middle Falls, Fred)?

This place is really extra beautiful. It's Shoal Creek Falls. A friend drove for me so I could shoot. The road we were on was only wide enough for cars. She just stopped in the road when I got the mud daubbers. They were in a short straight stretch on a very curvey road.

Winter IS a good time to photo falls on private property. Several of my images were made while I was standing next to the "Trespassers Will Be Shot" sign.

You must have looked this up! Speaking of getting shot, we got on one very curvy backroad, room for one car and in her GMC suv. One mailbox was a copy of a shotgun shell. Just never know what you'll find around here.

Made a list of Falls some time back using Kevin Adams book "North Carolina Waterfalls." At least 20 years ago, Shoal Creek Falls were on private property and, thus, my "Be vewy, vewy careful" list.

There were several "private property" signs but this is on Baptist Church property so we felt pretty safe! You have to step over a low fence and go a short ways down a very steep bank. She had an extra walking stick in her car which I used. Never used one before and really liked it. Just ordered a quad tip for one and some single feet (I can't do anything simply) and will make some walking sticks. I was surprised at the stability. Have some walnut drying on the front porch and some poplar that vines had grown around waiting to be made into walking sticks. It's been waiting a long time!
