I’m convinced. On my way back from a Florida trip to my home in (cold) NC. If my children and grandchildren didn’t live in Raleigh, we’d be putting our NC house on the market and headed south.

Better idea. Keep the NC property for spring, summer and fall. Buy a condo in FL for winters. My summer home is in Maggie Valley.

I lived in Florida for 4 years and now live in North Carolina and it's better here. You have the mountains and the ocean accessible and you have a beautiful variety of scenery, topography, and climate throughout NC. In Florida you have flat topography (the only mountains are the trash dumps!), boring climate that's too hot and humid most of the year, and very little in the way of nice scenery (beaches and ocean only) with the possible exception of the Everglades.
To me, Florida is a nice place to visit, but I'd much rather have the variety (of everything, including climate) in North Carolina.

I prefer the trees and flora of NC, the variety of topographies and rolling hills of Raleigh also, but it will be 18 tonight (snow on Wednesday), and it was hard to leave that 70+ degree weather!

I live in Ohio even though I am retired, but our families are there. But I just bought a condo in Florida, on the beach in Clearwater, and am spending my first winter here. We came down Jan 1, and to date, we have had about 5 very nice days, and 10 cool days. On a cool day, we might have to wear a sweatshirt or light jacket. Back in Ohio, there were 7 days at or below zero at night, highs in the single digits and teens.
We will stay here until April. Worth it? To us it is. We were more or less stuck indoors in Ohio from Thanksgiving to Easter. There are no real interests for us in cold weather. We very much like to walk outdoors, but with ice on the ground or very cold, we simply don't do it.

Welcome to Clearwater. I grew up on Clearwater Beach (Brightwater Drive on the south end)....then later owned a condo at Continental Towers....both on the water. I also keep a home in the mountains of western NC for spring/summer/fall. The best of both worlds.

So very true.... Living in Clearwater, we got down to a FRIDGED 40 degrees last night and are bracing for an even chillier 32 degree night tomorrow night.. then back into the 70 degree days... boy winter is tough. It was too chilly to ride the motorcycle last night. I'm not at all sorry that I moved here from Philadelphia. And its been better since I've been sending photos of the thermometer to friends living up north. lol.

In the video, I laughed most at the poor bull trying to do his thing with a cow and the very last one of the snow plow-dump truck falling on it's side. Felt a little like "turn about's fair play". Thanks for posting

I'd still rather shake snow off my boots than scorpions out of my shoes. I spent 9 full months at Jacksonville N.A.S. in Fla.; I have no desire to spend any more time than a week or two in the sunshine state.
