Why THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE SO IMPORTANT
In their infinite wisdom, the founders of our country created a structure called the "Electoral College" as a control system and to ensure the individual states were fairly represented. Otherwise one or two densely populated areas would speak for the whole of the nation. It was not created as a device to favor Democrats, Republicans, Whigs, Tories or any other political affiliation. It was created as a system of "checks and balances" to guard against any small vocal area, with a specific agenda, speaking for the whole of the nation.

The following list of recent statistics should put an end to the argument as to why the Electoral College makes sense.

There are 3,141 counties in the United States.
Trump won 3,084 of them.
Clinton won 57.

There are 62 counties in New York State.
Trump won 46 of them.
Clinton won 16.

Clinton won the popular vote by approx. 1.5 million votes.

In the 5 counties that encompass NYC (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond & Queens) Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than Trump.

In other words, these Five (5) counties alone, more than accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote for the entire country !

These 5 counties comprise 319 square miles.
The United States is comprised of 3,797,000 square miles.

When you have a country that encompasses almost 4 million square miles of territory, it would be ludicrous to even suggest that the vote of those who inhabit a mere 319 square miles should dictate the outcome of a national election.

Large, densely populated cities (NYC, Chicago, LA, etc.) do not and should not speak for the rest of our country...and somehow the geniuses who founded our country understood this and created a system to avoid that circumstance.

And now you understand the supreme importance of the Electoral College.

Do share this... It needs to be understood.

What it needs is to be debunked. Let’s fact check this BS (and then move it to the attic where it belongs): https://www.factcheck.org/2016/12/clinton-counties/

The numbers may not be absolutely correct but the purpose of the Electoral College is shown and that is the reason it should NOT be done away with!

or as some of the LIV's like to call it "the electrical college".

I'll never forget the Obama worshiper who was interviewed as to the budget process one year. She thought it was really good that Obama kept us from going over the "physical cliff". And they get to vote. More than once..

Being a deep blue voter who lives in a bright red state, what the electoral college does is make my vote irrelevant. That’s the problem with the electoral college.

Apparently I clicked on the wrong button --- I was attempting to be optimistic by observing that our poster who formerly lived under a rock shortly & most hopefully would be residing in our ATTIC

Not sure about all your facts, but your claim that the hag got 1.5 million more votes than Trump is false and only valid if you want to count all the illegal votes that the hag paid people to travel to different parts of the country to cast multiple votes for her. Remove, the ones that have been discovered and Trump received the majority of votes too. You have to stop listening to the lying main stream media and get the truth; it is reported on the internet.

If you want to reply to me, do it privately. The admin has me blocked me from emails because on October 20, yahoo put an email from here into the spam folder. Their answer to that is to have a tantrum and block you (when this happens) from receiving emails for 10 days; kinda like in kindergarten when you were sent to the corner). Only I am still being blocked and they will not fix it; instead they keep coming back and telling me to do stupid things that don't work or exist as they claim. Multiple emails to them has me still blocked over a month later. Is this not discrimination?

If you want to call Hillary Clinton a "hag" and disparage all the major news outlets as irrelevant then you don't deserve the respect of a civil conversation.

BTW, Clinton got almost 3 million more votes than Trump. All legal.

Not "all" news outlets merit disparagement. Fox, BBC, & NHK are excellent in terms of scope, currency, accuracy, lack of bias. YMMV

Legal, yes (probably). All from densely populated cities for the most part. A few densely populated areas should not determine election outcomes. Why would you not want people who live in the counties you refer to to vote? And if you believe that cows vote well....
