I have seen many discussions about the pros and cons of many different post photo processing computer software.
However I have not seen anyone mention Corel PaintShop Pro 2018, which is the latest version. I have used this
product for many years going back to at least 2001. Was just wondering is anyone has any additional thoughts
or comments on it. Thank-you.

I have owned it since it was a share-ware program by JASC and own 2018. It is a very capable program with tons of tutorials.

I find it extremely versatile and does everything I need for post processing. It is also economical.

I have PSP X9 Ultimate (I believe the version preceding 2018). Please offer up any tutorials you've found. I can find specific instructions (i.e., crop, clone, white balance, etc.), but am looking for more process description - something that notes where to typically start PPg, steps, etc. I am attempting to clean up scuba photos, and outdoor stuff (add more drama to sky). Thanks in advance.

I just recently upgraded Paintshop Pro (PSP) X9 to PSP 2018. I am running it on a six year old HP Vision laptop with Windows 8.1 that is really loaded down with a great number of image editing and special effect programs. I have NIK Collection, Topaz, Redfield, and other miscellaneous plug-ins attached. It is quite slow at times but, I have not experienced any buggy operation or crashes. In my opinion, 2018 doesn't offer a whole lot of improvements over X9. I do like 2018 because it is slightly faster and many of the adjustments and tools have been improved. Seems to be a little smoother. There are also some new tools.

As far as tutorials for PSP are concerned, there are many videos on You Tube
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=paintshop+pro+tutorials
Most of the older tutorials will still apply to X9 and 2018. Also, the learning center embedded into 2018 is quite helpful. The entire manual (831 page PDF) from Corel is available by clicking on Help in the program. It can be downloaded to your computer and is quite comprehensive. There are more tutorial videos available on Corel's web site. And there is always UHH members who are pretty helpful. I have been using PSP since the JASC version 7 days all the way up through Corel's X1 through X9 and now version 2018. I love PSP and find it fairly easy to learn, especially the basics, and is comprehensive enough that I don't think I need something like Adobe Photoshop for anything that I do. Even though I have been using PSP all these years, I still am learning new capabilities as I go and I have processed thousands of images in my time. Hope this helps a little. Have a GREAT DAY!

I have been a user since the JASC days, I find it easy to use (for the most part) and does all I need done at a lower price point!

I too have been using it for a long time, since X3 and now up to 2018, I'm used to it. It works for me.

I bought the upgrade from X9 for the few added features. But I think that switching to Affinity is a better choice. I have affinity and will be jumping between the two... I also have Topaz Studio [basic is free] and all my plugins will work direct or will be converted for Studio specifically over the coming year... one by one.

Very good, even better than X8, different work flow now that I have it, quicker and easier than when I used DPP for RAW conversion and then PSPX8. Bob.

Used it for years until I switched to a Mac. Very good Windows PP program with nice Topaz integration.

Can someone please recommend a simple photo editing software program for a Mac computer that can be purchased rather then leased, thank you

I have used Corel for years. I am now using proX9. It will do just about anything I need it to. My only problem with it is the lack of written instruction material. I have spent years figuring it out to my needs. There is all kinds of written material on photoshop. I don't understand why Corel isn't written about. It is very capable software.
