Prices on Canon's 7Dii, 80D and SL2 have dropped recently. Rumors indicate that replacements are expected in 2018. Is it likely that Canon will reduce the prices further when the new lenses come out? Would I be better off waiting?

Rumors are nothing more than rumors. If you want it buy it, if the price has already dropped, that's good for you.

Prices always come down during the holiday season. As well as when the update has been released. So if you don't need the latest and greatest, or if you are looking for a bargain, waiting a coupla months couldn't hurt

The prices are coming down because these cameras are getting older and newer cameras are eating into their niche. When, or even if a replacement is coming is just guessing.

You may want to wait a week or two. Since I just ordered the 80D, I would expect, based on previous experience, that the price should drop soon.

While I did not check the other two cameras, I can tell you that the 7D Mark II is still $1499 at B&H. That's the regular price it has been selling at for more than two years. I'm sure the prices on those three cameras dropped significantly during the Christmas season, but that was only temporary.

Edit: just checked on the Canon 80d and it is currently selling for $1,249, its regular price.

The prices came down as they always do during the holiday season. They are now back to their pre holiday season regular prices.

From an authorized dealer? Which one? B&H has the body for $1099.

Ordered from best buy since I had several gift cards from there totalling around $700. And yes, they are an authorized dealer.

Edit: Mea culpa, I just checked and it is now $1099. I guess my order was placed in a timely manor on Thursday. I will enjoy it even more now.

Unless the company has announced a release date, I don't wait. There is a release date for every product, but there is no "end date" for people. If I wait for a new model to arrive, will I be alive when it gets here? "Now" is a very good time. If the new model really appeals to you when it comes out, sell what you bought and buy the new one.
