Today's WSJ has an interesting article on the value and use of this camera as an everyday carry it with you device for taking photographs. To anyone who owns one what is your experience using it?

I own a Fuji X100F currently as my sole camera. Love its many creative options and features. Very well designed and manufactured. Great sharp 35mm equivalent lens. Dual optical/electronic viewfinder. Enhanced live view LCD.
Excellent ergonomics. Perfect for travel, family photos, events, landscapes, architecture, and street photography.
Highly recommended.

It does get very high marks—and if I ever decide to truly simplify—this will be it. Or it’s successor. Bottom line: you can’t go wrong with Fuji.

I have one also. It can be used completely automatically, or in any one of many highly controllable modes. I find it the ideal carry camera. One proviso: the manual leaves a great deal to be desired; if you want to get the most out of this exceptional piece of equipment, purchase one of the better books of instruction. I use The Complete Guide to Fujifilm's X100F Expert Insights for Experienced Photographers by Tony Phillips.

Simply the latest (now 4th generation) and best iteration of what has become for so many Fuji enthusiasts "the best street camera". It really has a cult following, and even for the original X100. Reviews are two-a-penny and you'd be hard-put to find an adverse review. Here's one you may or may not have seen .....

https://shotkit.com/fujifilm-x100f-review-f-for-fourth/

My experience ? Was Nikon DSLR user, but added the X-E1 and 18-55 lens out of interest and a perceived "new enthusiasm" for the X-Series. Moved to X-T1 and loved it, and added the 35mm f1.4 prime ..... unbelievably sharp lens ! Whilst following Fuji I noticed folks saying "if you want the street lens (23mm) then look at the X-100 series, 'cos you get a great camera along with the lens". Added the X-100S (used from a pro) and it did everything they said it would. Longer story short ...... concluded I didn't need 2 cameras, was offered great deal on the 23mm f1.4 lens, sold the X100S to a guy in Italy who still loves it, and stuck with the interchangeable lens cameras.

Food for your thought ....... which camp do you want, or can afford, to be in ....... fixed lens (X100 series) ..... or with one of the interchangeable lens X-Series cameras?

It's a wonderful camera and has excellent lenses if you want an APS-C sized sensor. The only reason I didn't buy one was this sensor size (although Fuji does not have a very wide range of lenses either). I went m4/3 for travel; size, weight and lens options ... and a full frame system for when I want the large sensor advantages and don't need to lug a lot.

Roland, the OP is asking about the X100F. Yes you're right about the camera's qualities, but do please check out how many lenses one can put on it ! One camera, a fixed lens, one size only, with an APS-C sensor. Strange that you "didn't" buy it for the reason you state ..... but we're all different !

I also think you'll find, as a micro 4/3 user (nothing wrong with that !) that there is an already adequate, and growing, supply of high quality XF lenses, zooms and primes, for most X-Series users of interchangeable lens cameras !

A year ago I won a Fuji X-100T in a drawing. I resisted the urge to play with it because I wanted to resell it on eBay as new, which I did. I do not want to be limited to one fixed lens. When I do street photography I find that I use many focal lengths which is why I have a Fuji X-T2 with the 18-135 lens.

Lucky you, and I hope you got good money for it ....... although if you had to take ebay/PayPal hit for fees (for me it would normally be just over 13% of selling price) then that would have taken a large chunk of profit away from you. There again, you won it, so .......

Your lens choice once again reflects individual difference, which isn't a bad thing. I have X-T2, 23, 35 and 56 primes. That's my lot ! Happy to carry them around in a small bag with just a para cord wrist strap on the camera. "Good enough" for me !

Yes, I took the hit from eBay and PayPal, but eBay exposes your goods to the greatest number of potential buyers. Many of my photos are quickly grabbed shots as I move along with a tour group in exotic locations. I would not feel comfortable changing prime lenses on the fly plus I would miss the shots, since I'm most drawn to shots of people on the street. However, just for fun, I tried a Fuji 50mm f/2 at B&H and grabbed a shot of an interesting looking customer and I was *very* impressed at the speed of focus and the sharpness of that lens.

I purchased the Fujifim X100F nearly a year ago and it goes with me everywhere. It has been a fantastic supplement to my Canon FF DSLR system. It has great flexibility especially with the built in 3 stop ND filter and leaf shutter that allows for high-speed synch. The creative control elements are outstanding with tactile function settings (shutter speed, aperture, ISO) that can be adjusted for shooting conditions even when the camera is powered down. Image quality is superb and the Fujifilm film simulations are incredible. The Acros simulation for mono images is amazing and rivals Leica's mono imagery. The one issue I have is lack of any weather sealing so it won’t come out of the bag in inclement weather. I believe the great form factor would be compromised with weather sealing so it is definitively a fair-weather friend. There are better options for video as well but I have that covered with other platforms. I love the X100F.

How would you rate it versus a Canon Powershot G16

Tried to trade my Canon Powershot G16 but for one but was only offered $240 for the Canon. Where's the best place to try to sell/trade the G16?

Why not start with the members' Buy, Sell, Trade section here on this forum. I'm based in the UK, so don't have experience of it, but, from what I DO know, if you take the necessary precautions as with any site, you might have some success. Plenty of Canon users here.

Alternative would be ebay (but see my post above re the effect of fees on your selling price). Are you a facebook user? Check fb for any US "Buy, Sell and Trade Canon equipment" groups, or even just "Buy, Sell, Trade photo equipment" groups. There are US retailers who will part-exchange you for a new or used Fuji. Others will help you with them.

Oh, and, if you're trying to trade it I reckon you've already answered your previous question !

i have been using the x100t for almost 3 years as my only camera . i mostly do walk around street photography , and can carry the camera in a small belt pouch
with me almost all the time . i like the simplicity of the camera , and use it in aperture priority most of the time . there is no stabilization , but i can get usable
photos at 1/30 sec most of the time , and iso 6400 is usable also . i switched from the x100 because the evf is much better on the x100t . this is as close as i can
get to a leica , which i can't afford . i have not handled the x100f , but it seems very similar to the t .
