AOL Any problems with them?

Have had an Email from AOL saying that I must update, or lose them in 10 days. I thought I had lost them about four years ago because they caused me and my computer so may problems. It seems that they are just drumming up 'New' customers. Any comments about AOL?

I never respond to anything in my inbox unless I know, for a fact, where it came from. If you’re not using AOL, I’d delete that, or mark it as spam

Another vote for spam/fishing. I get emails every week from banks telling me to update my account or it will be suspended. Just delete the email.

When it comes to banks, I find the address for their fraud department and send them the copy of the e mail and tell them I am not their customer and that they might want to check the e mail out. Every time I have done this I have gotten an e mail back saying that it was an attempt to hack into an account.

I got the same kind of e-mail from comcast (Xfinity) saying I had to verify and update my account. It’s a scam!

Thanks for your replies. Wanted to know how UHH folks in the USA felt about AOL. Have searched my files and Uninstalled any reference to AOL.

AOL no longer exists. They were acquired by Verizon and renamed OATH (their headquarters are within walking distance from my office). Some folks still have legacy AOL.com email accounts, but I don't know that OATH is doing anything to promote/retain those accounts.

I have not done business with AOL since the late 80's. AOL heavily filters out the content you receive and they have been guilty of deceptive practices in the past. It is amazing that they are still in business and that people still think they are getting something for their money.
