Hello fellow Uglies. . .I am Stephen J in Rock Springs, WY--Taking scenic/industrial/candid/golf/people pics since about '75. Just (Xmas) upgraded to full-frame with a D5 Mark IV. Loving it, but can't figure out how to get fewer images--all the settings seem to leave me with at least 4 images per exposure in camera and to my Photos files (JPEG and RAWS). This is plugging up my computer and causing me a lot of "delete" time. I hate to take one of the cards out. Any suggestions? (I can hear the eye rolls all the way out here. . .)
Welcome to the forums.
Re the multiple exposures - just check to make sure that you don't have exposure bracketing turned on.
Thanks, Richard.
I will re-check. Exposures all look the same--just different file sizes.
Still trying to read thru the 600 page manual. . .
it sounds like you have the cards set for one to be a backup for the other, so you'll get 2 images of whatever you shoot recorded. (1 per card.)
if you happen to have your quality set to raw + jpeg, that will give you 2 recordings of the same image.
if you ARE set to backup on the second card- ta da----4 images. 1 raw and 1 jpeg per card times two cards.
Raw and jpeg files will also, by their nature, be different sizes. So if my thoughts are correct, you would have 2- Raw files the same size and 2- jpeg files the same size, but smaller than the Raws.
