40 years from now will our kids and grand kids be dusting off our old hard drives and finding digital treasures of days past? Hopefully, we are all making some prints as those pixels on today's hard drives may not work in 40 years like an old negative. My motto is if you don't print it, it does not exist. Ahhh memories....
You are so right...The old photos I have are in excellent nick, some are almost 100 years old, or whenever box cameras came out. When I moved house years ago, the photos got wet in a storm and I was devastated. They were all curled up and I flattened them out with books. You would never know that happened, they are so good. I'm glad those photos have come to me, because I treasure them whereas someone else might have just chucked them in the garage.
Who knows what secrets the future will reveal about us....I'm writing a family history and the info I've found on google and ancestry sites is mind boggling. I'm sure g.g.g.grandma wouldn't have had a clue that her shady past would be revealed for all to see, generations after her death. It can be tricky writing about some things, respect, and conscience comes into it.
