Just purchased this. Works well. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=email&A=details&Q=&sku=1349614&is=REG

It's by Vello from B&H photo. Focus is manual but easy enough with focus assist turned on. Don't forget to set "Focus without lens" to ON or the shutter won't release.

Be sure to look at the bottom right of page 1 and the top left of page 2. The SpeedBooster on the second page is actually a focal length reducer. It minimizes the image by .71x to fit more of it on the APS-C sensor. That concentrates brightness by one f/stop and improves MTF performance.

The unfortunate thing about Nikon lenses is that they are very hard to adapt to other cameras WHILE retaining automation of the diaphragm, AF, VR, and EXIF data transfer. But if you're okay with manual focus and manual diaphragm control, adapters and focal length reducers do work.

Thank you... I’m beginning to question if trying to use an adapter is worth all the bother and losing the features.

I gave up on adapting old Nikkors to my Lumix GH5. I tested a 35mm f/2, a 55mm f/3.5, and a 24mm f/2.8. They were a pain to use, with mediocre results. My native Lumix lenses have auto diaphragms, auto focus, and image stabilization, and they transmit their settings to the camera for storage in the EXIF table. They are also much lighter, contrastier, and sharper.

But if I had Canon L glass... I might use it. It adapts with full automation on Sony and Micro 4/3 bodies.

Again that being said, could you use Lumix glass on the Fuji? If so what adapter would you recommend?

No, Lumix glass fits Olympus and Panasonic Lumix only.

SLR and dSLR lenses are adaptable because mirrorless cameras have a shorter distance between the lens attachment flange and the sensor. It's easy to use a "spacer" -like adapter, because the old lenses need one anyway. Those older designs are made for a longer flange to sensor distance, and won't work without it. Micro 4/3 lenses work even closer to the sensor than Fujifilm APS-C lens designs.
