Hi all, I am a sports photographer and I do horse racing among other sports. I use a D500 at the finish post and I want to set my D700 as a second camera on the opposite side of the track. the tricky bit is I want the D700 to be triggered from the D500. Has anyone any ideas?

Not from the D500 but, what about a CamRanger?

What about three of these https://www.amazon.com/Yongnuo-RF-603NII-N1-Wireless-Remote-Trigger/dp/B00JUND9GU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1514755579&sr=8-3&keywords=yongnuo+remote+trigger+nikon with the appropriate cords for each camera? One on each camera and the third to trip both at the same time with a single press of the button. They're wireless, so the cameras need not be visible to the remote trigger. Range mentioned is "up to 100 meters."

Pocket Wizard's, or other "make" triggers!

Exactly! I've done this with their 602 triggers and corresponding transmitter, and can confirm both the range and reliability. With I can't confirm is that there is no delay between firing the main camera and the remotely triggered one. I only used 2 cameras, but I also used a single transmitter to trigger both cameras remotely and I can say that both cameras fired at exactly same time.

Pocket Wizards should do the trick! Also, Nikon's new Wireless Radio system might work, hover the D700 is not a body that, AFAIK, works with it. Best of luck. Happy New Year.

Why don't you just check with Nikon USA. I am sure they can answer your question.
