Shooting movies with Canon 6D II?

When I shoot movies with my 6D II, the longest it will go is 30 seconds. I'm sure that there is some setting that I need to use to be able to shoot longer movies, but I just don't know what it is. Please help!

You probably want to consult your EOS 6D II User's Guide (aka Instruction Manual), particularly Chapter 9 - Shooting Movies. There could be a few issues at play, but page 344 provides a chart of the recording duration and quality parameters based on the size of the card...

Ive read the manual chapter on shooting movies but there is nothing said about only allowing the duration of a movie to be so short. There must be a setting somewhere that halts the movie production to a specified time. The time is not 30 seconds, but even shorter at 10 second. A blue line goes across the screen that indicates progress and stops at 10 seconds.

Sounds like you have it set for video snapshot.
Download the PDF manual from Canon and search for it.

Unfortunately, a guessing game is the most difficult method to help you. At this point, you haven't provided any of the technical details needed to make a guess at the cause.

What size card? What class and brand? (page 343)
Are you shooting 'normal' or time-lapse? (page 349)
What movie recording quality? (page 341)
What frame rate? (pages 333 & 342)
What shooting mode, M or another selection from the mode dial? (pages 326-332)
Have you formatted the card in this camera body before starting to capture a movie? (note on page 344)
Do you have Video Snapshot and Time-lapse Movie disabled (details starting page 349)
What ISO setting?

After checking all these details, don't respond with "yes" / "no" if you still haven't found the cause. Because none of us are there with you and the camera, you have to help yourself in getting help by providing all the relevant technical details.

Call Canon support or the place you bought it from. As you mentioned, I bet it's a simple adjustment. >Alan

I'm thinking your card may be bad or wrong class.
