Here is one of my favorites-Lake Superior at 20 below-
At the end of a riverboat trip to Amsterdam, I set up and shot this row of houses from a bridge over this canal. I then whipped out my Galaxy S7 to get a shot for my Facebook friends. I might get thrown off this site, but I like this phone shot better. It's a matter of the reflection of the setting sun on the water. This might need some cropping. You have to work hard to get a bad shot in Amsterdam.

I love predators. And we all have to eat. But the look on that fish's face as if he knows what is going to happen, gives me the creeps.
Great job.

Good shot.
From this year's August 21 Total Solar Eclipse. My first attempt at shooting a total solar eclipse. Shot with a Nikon D3300 coupled with a 81mm f/5.9 refractor (essentially a prime lens @478mm with a fixed f/5.9). This is a stack of 9 1/125 sec exposures. It was quite an adventure capturing this. Had to dodge clouds, racing down the street and setting up at last minute before totality.

For me this years journey has been one of a search for excellence. I find that I have a number of tack sharp pictures with excellent color balance, that are less than inspiring. Subjects that are well defined, backgrounds controlled yet no compelling reason to view. So taking another tack ( in the venue my latest is my greatest). My first pano.

Wow, so many awesome photos here. Something to aspire towards.
This is one of my favorites of 2017. Greater White-fronted Geese fleeing my car.
Great shot Treepusher! I love your stories! Here's mine.
So many, but here's one of my favorites. Cummins Falls in Jackson County Tennessee from this fall.

One of my latest bird photos shot with a Nikon 200-500 and the Nikon D500 which I have rented for a try out. Think maybe that combo may work!
Have to go with this one because it is different.
